This is why I read: a review of Forbidden Fate by Mary Catherine Gebhard.

I read A LOT of books, usually several books each week. Although I may love many of them, I don't necessarily remember them. Sure, I may remember the basic plot or a particular character, but there are only a handful of books that truly stay with me. Those are the stories that I can't get out of my mind for days, weeks, months, even years after I've read them. Stolen Soulmate and Forbidden Fate, the second and third installments in the Crowne Point series by Mary Catherine Gebhard, is one of those stories.

When I first read Stolen Soulmate, I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. That book consumed me, and months later, I still couldn't get over the story of Grayson Crowne and Story Hale. So, needless to say, I've been counting down the days until I could read Forbidden Fate and I was beyond excited to receive an Advanced Reader Copy. This time, I told myself that I'd be prepared. I knew the angst and the heartbreak that could be coming my way, but again, I was just not ready.

In Forbidden Fate, Gray and Story find themselves both in a miserable and seemingly impossible situation. What is one willing to do, willing to give up, for true love? Trust me, this book makes you feel every emotion. I was angry, sad, disappointed, shocked and heartbroken. Yes, my heart broke for these characters. Mary Catherine Gebhard has built a world and characters that will stay with you long after you turn the last page. To me, that is what makes a book truly unforgettable, when you actually forget that you're reading and step fully into another world. That is why I read.
