This Sunday is Mother's Day, so I'd like to dedicate this blog to my mom. One of the things that brings me and my mom together is, of course, books. We dedicate many of our Sunday phone calls to book discussions, but we don't have what you might consider the typical "book club". See, I'm an obsessive reader and my mom is not; however, she does enjoy listening to me go on and on about a good story.
Now, we don't discuss ALL of the books that I read (since I read several books each week), so I save the very best for our Sunday chats. It's the books that truly touch me, the ones that rip my heart out or make my jaw drop...the ones that I'm just dying to tell someone about (and the hubby just really don't care). Those are the books that I save for our "Mommy & Me Book Club". We discuss books like The Beautiful Hearts duet by Emma Scott and Stolen Soulmate by Mary Catherine Gebhard; books that I cry over and stories that I can scream about. She sometimes cries along with me, and other times questions my sanity. She waits patiently with me for sequels and for that long awaited last book of a trilogy.
So, in honor of Mother's Day, I'd like to say THANK YOU to my mom for joining my book club and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of the Book Club moms, no matter what your book club may look like.
