"We're not meant to be. Not forever. But the time we had together? I already know now, even if I live for a hundred more f*cking years, I'll never forget it. Or her."
Sounds romantic, right? Trust me, if you are looking for a romance, this isn't it. A love story? Yes. Romance? Not exactly.
As the author warns you, this book is not for everyone. This entire series is dark and twisted. It will make you question your morals and possibly your sanity, because although these characters are evil, depraved and psychotic, you can't help but love them.
Boy of Ruin is the fourth book in the Unsainted series by K.V. Rose and this is Jeremiah's story, although it's told in three POV's (Jeremiah, Sid and Lucifer). After Sid runs to Jeremiah for protection, he is determined to make her his and to keep her forever even though she's married to Lucifer and carrying Lucifer's child. Lucifer is left broken and buries his grief in alcohol, drugs and sex, but when he discovers another unknown threat, he knows that he has to get Sid back to truly keep her safe. Question is, does he love her enough to let her go again if that's what she truly wants?
As with all of the books in this series, there is blood, sex, tears, rituals...and more blood and sex. There are triggers of child abuse, rape and murder. The warning is real...this series is not for everyone. If none of that bothers you though, this is one of the BEST dark romance series that I've ever read. Lucifer and Jeremiah (and all of the Unsaints) may be wicked, but they are just so broken. They were made, not born, to be evil and underneath it all, they aren't entirely bad. They love hard. They love completely. And it's hard not to love them back.
Boy of Ruin may have ruined me. It's left me wanting more, and I can't wait for the next book and the one after that...and the one after that. There are still four more books coming in this series and I will devour each and every one of them.
